Blackpool skipper Charlie Adam has made the nominations shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year.
Adam, whose goalscoring exploits have given Ian Holloway's side a real chance of beating the drop, is a serious contender to win the prestigious award, which will be announced at a gala dinner on Sunday, April 17.
Tottenham's Gareth Bale, West Ham's Scott Parker, Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri, Carlos Tevez, who has been the driving force behind Manchester City's bid to qualify for the Champions League, and Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic are Adam's five rivals.
United have provided the PFA Player of the Year for the past four years - Cristiano Ronaldo (2007 and 2008) was followed by Ryan Giggs then, 12 months ago, Wayne Rooney - and Vidic will be hoping to uphold Old Trafford's recent tradition.
