Blackpool star Tom Ince produced a Man of the Match performance as the England U21s defeated Sweden 4-0 in Walsall tonight.
The in-demand winger, who is almost certain to leave Bloomfield Road for a Premier League club in the summer, scored twice as Stuart Pearce's men recorded their seventh straight victory in front of 9,000 at Banks's Stadium.
Ince opened the scoring with his first U21s goal inside ten minutes when he slid home a pass Tottenham's Millwall loanee Adam Smith who had advanced down the right.
The advantage was doubled on the half-hour mark by Liverpool's Jonjo Shelvey who was able to prod Ince's scuffed cross beyond Swedish keeper Andreas Linde before Ince tapped home five minutes later after Chelsea's Josh McEachran, on loan to Middlesbrough, saw his penalty saved.
The contest was wrapped up with 15 minutes remaining when Sunderland's Connor Wickham scored his fourth in five matches for the Young Lions, heading home Henri Lansbury's inswinging cross, which gives Pearce's men a brilliant run of form ahead of Euro2013 in Israel.
