Blackpool's Holloway wants Preston off HIS beach

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has told Championship club Preston North End to get off HIS beach.

The Seasiders have been forced off all pitches in the area because everything is under ice so Holloway has been using a strip of beach to keep his players fit.

He heard that Preston had been using the same area and jokingly warned them off his territory.

"We have been on the beach because it is the only place we can train. We booked a local college but they rang up to say the pitch was frozen solid. When you are without an indoor facility you are snookered," he said.

"The lads have a good laugh and enjoyed themselves on the beach. It is a fantastic thing for us to have.

"I understand Preston were on there the other day. If I had my way we would have banned them from my beach!

"It is the first time we have used it and it was brilliant.

"We started at noon, which was a bit later so it wasn't frozen. There was people with dogs stopping and looking. It was great.

"It is only in conditions like this we can do it. The rest of the year it would be too slippery. There was just enough frost for it to be soft enough to use and hard enough not to dig deep holes in it."
