Blackpool's Holloway keen to retain top-line players

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is determined to keep his top-line players at Bloomfield Road this winter.

There is plenty of interest in the likes of Charlie Adam, David Vaughan, Stephen Crainey and Matthew Gilks but Holloway says that he will do what he can to keep them and other key players in a Tangerines shirt.

"If someone came in tomorrow and offered me a huge amount of money for Charlie, would I be that worried that we didn't have him in the team anymore?" he told the Blackpool Gazette.

"It will just give someone else the opportunity to play, and that's what I have been saying for a long while.

"What I don't want to do is lose Charlie, David Vaughan, Stephen Crainey and Matt Gilks all at the same time. That would be too many. It's hard to build after losing that many.

"But I don't believe any of them will want to go at the moment.

"I think they should all stay, at least until the summer, because I think every one of them will have a better chance of enhancing their reputation with us.

"I don't think any of them could play for a better club than us at the moment...though I might be totally biased.

"If someone does come in, I have promised every one of them that I will look at it, and then we'll discuss it, and we'll see if it is the right club for them, and if it isn't, then they won't be going anywhere."
