Blackpool's Carney likely to play but Wilkshire, Culina out

Australian left-back David Carney is likely to take his place in the starting line-up for Tuesday's (Wednesday 12:00am AEDT) final group stage match of the 2011 Asian Cup.

The Blackpool defender popped his shoulder in the 1-1 draw with South Korea on Saturday morning but is expected to play against Bahrain in a match which the Socceroos must win if they want top spot in Group C.

However, Dinamo Moscow right-back and Gold Coast United midfielder Jason Culina are expected to miss with groin and knee problems respectively.

Wellington Phoenix defender Jade North looks set to replace Wilkshire in the back four whilst Sassuolo midfielder Carl Valeri will step into Culina's position.

Socceroos skipper Lucas Neill was confident that whoever happens to step in can do a job for the green and gold.

"The guys that are going to come in are going to have to hit the ground running," Neill said.

"But the way that the manager's had them training, I'm sure they're ready and raring."
