Blackpool risk losing on-loan Derby County striker Luke Varney in January.
The Mirror says Varney has been a shock hit for Ian Holloway's club during his loan spell from Derby County, with a winner at Liverpool among his achievements.
But Varney can be sold to another team in the New Year sales because of a get-out clause in his contract, which lets Derby accept offers for him from interested parties.
Blackpool have an option in place to take Varney in a full-time transfer for £500,000 plus bonuses at the end of the season. But cash-conscious County are open to firm bids from others in January.
Varney is running out of contract in the summer of 2012 and Derby would rather do a guaranteed deal and cash in on him sooner - making sure his wages are off their payroll in the long term.
