Blackpool not given up on deal for Newcastle striker Ranger

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is still keen on securing the services of striker Nile Ranger on a loan deal from Newcastle. Pool reportedly made an offer for the 20-year-old in the recent transfer window but a deal failed to materialise.

Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette: "I don't like talking about other people's players but my chairman has been talking to them constantly, though nothing has materialised yet."

The manager added that the possibility of signing Rob Hulse from QPR is in doubt after the striker suffered an injury.

"Rob is still injured, so that won't be happening at the moment," added Holloway.

"There is no point signing someone who is injured."
