Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is moving for Rob Hulse.
The Mirror says Holloway is ready to splash a record £1 million fee on Derby County striker Hulse as he looks to make his first big signing for the Premier League.
Holloway has made an inquiry for the experienced and available front man and sent top spy Billy Dearden to watch him in action at the weekend.
Hulse will be sold by Nigel Clough's club to bring in money for new players - and he is for sale at the kind of price that the cash-conscious Seasiders can afford.
Blackpool made skipper Charlie Adam their biggest-ever buy when they landed him from Rangers a year ago for £500,000. But they will have to double that to land Hulse.
