Blackpool have signed highly-rated Arsenal midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas on a month's loan ahead of the visit of Derby.

The 18-year-old is highly rated by the Gunners backroom staff and captained Arsenal's Under-18s to the FA Youth Cup and Academy League Cup double last term.

He also featured regularly for the Arsenal reserves and caught the eye in several positions for the second string, playing not only in midfield but also at left-back and up front.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway said: "Initially it is just a month but I hope to convince him we can build on that and extend it for a longer period."
