Blackpool's economy has been hit hard by their game with Manchester United being snowed off.
The game - a 16,000 capacity sell-out - was billed as Blackpool FC's "game of the season" with the club, hoteliers and traders all expecting to cash in on fans flooding into town, says the Blackpool Gazette.
Pub bosses say they will lose thousands in unsold pints, while hotels rooms will remain empty.
The club itself faces a bill from police and will lose out on lucrative hospitability, food and drink sales.
Mark Leonard, director of local website Click 2 Visit which helps football fans find accommodation, said: "We'll be missing out today on an influx of thousands of fans coming into the town. It's going to have a knock-on effect on the hotels, restaurants, bars and taxis.
"The hoteliers were looking forward to putting the fans up for a couple of nights, it would have been a good Christmas bonus for them. It will have a devastating effect on the town financially."
