Blackpool defender Evatt convinced of beating drop

Blackpool defender Ian Evatt is adamant they can beat the drop.

The defender's delight about claiming a fine point at Tottenham was tempered by Wolves' victory 24 hours later, which put Pool in the bottom three.

"Yes, the Wolves result was a downer. But it hasn't really changed anything," Evatt told the Blackpool Gazette.

"The Bolton game was always going to be a bit of a must-win. But the great thing is that we are feeling confident because of the way we've played over the last few weeks.

"Performances are good, and we go into the Bolton match very happy with the way we are playing. It was disappointing not to get all three points at Spurs, but it was very much a point gained because you can't exactly go to a place like White Hart Lane and expect to win.

"But it is a bit of a shame, because we felt so comfortable. After Charlie scored his penalty we didn't really feel like we were going to concede, but unfortunately Jermain Defoe hit a great shot and there isn't too much you can do about that.

"However, it's out of our systems. We know we got a great draw, we're unbeaten in three, and everyone is really looking forward to trying to beat Bolton."
