Blackpool chairman Oysten insists they will be competitive

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston believes they can be competitive in next season's Premiership - without blowing the budget.

Oysten hopes his club's success will encourage others to "wake up" and not continue doing things the wrong way.

"I'm not in the business of proving people wrong, even if that is what has happened," said Oyston, when asked if he felt he had proved a point to the critics who for years accused him of lacking ambition and investment.

"I certainly hope other clubs see this model and run their businesses the same way because it shows everything is possible if you do things right."
