Blackpool boss waits on the soap opera that is Seip

Blackpool are trying to extend the loan deal of Marcel Seip, but boss Ian Holloway is keeping out of negotiations. Seip is currently the centre of some controversy after scoring the winner against parent club Plymouth last weekend. It prompted an almighty row after Seip's wife and mother-in-law - the daughter and wife of Argyle deputy chairman Paul Stapleton - were photographed celebrating Blackpool's win.

Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette: "We are working on keeping Marcel here after his loan spell runs out [on Saturday], but I am staying out of it and have passed that one over to the chairman because he is good at cutting through the drama."

He added: "But some strange things are going on in the press. Surely you can celebrate if your son-in-law scores? You can put your thumb up without being evil.

"All I have done is borrowed a player who wasn't being picked at their football club. He has helped me keep three clean sheets and scored two. So what has he done wrong? I don't understand."
