Blackpool amazed by season ticket demands

Blackpool are amazed by the surge of season ticket applications for the coming season.

The club has been inundated with requests and is still sifting through more than 11,000 applications. It's a massive increase - they had fewer than 5,000 season-ticket holders for the last campaign.

"We have sold sufficient season tickets in the north, west and south stands to make it a definite that the east stand will be split between home and away fans," chairman Karl Oyston told the Blackpool Gazette.

"We are delighted with the interest and the take-up we've had from home fans. It was beyond our wildest dreams and we hope it continues.

"We will be selling season tickets in the northern end of the east stand and we hope that fills up with Blackpool fans as well.

"The southern end of the east stand will be the area that houses away fans, 2,500 of them. Six hundred of those we are hoping to accommodate for corporate packages in the first floor of the south stand."
