Relegated Blackpool have activated a clause in star midfielder Charlie Adam's contract according to reports.
The Seasiders today released 11 players as they prepare for life in the Championship but they also triggered Adam's deal, effectively keeping at Bloomfield Road for a further 12 months.
The Scottish international has been attracting plenty of attention this season with the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham interested and now Blackpool will hold out for the best offer after taking out the 12-month option on his contract so he doesn't leave for free.
