Blackpool ace Adam disappointed with Scotland showing

Blackpool captain Charlie Adam was flattened by the way he played for Scotland in yesterday's friendly loss to Brazil.

The 25-year old midfielder made his ninth international appearances as his side were beaten 2-0 by the samba kings at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, where on Adam's last visit, his club were trounced 6-0 by the Gunners.

Scotland boss Craig Levein said that Adam told him he was not happy with his performance and the coach was pleased to hear that somebody feels he can do better for his country.

"The lads are disappointed," he said. "Charlie Adam in particular is disappointed in the way he played.

"I said to Charlie that it just shows him where he has come from in the last year or so.

"There were some people this morning talking about Charlie being as good as anyone on the pitch and that is the level of performance that Charlie is expected to put in these days.

"He recognises that and it was refreshing to hear him say he felt he could have played a lot better today.

"But he played his part in the team effort, that's for sure."
