Blackpool have relinquished the lead twice to be held to a 2-2 draw by Everton at Bloomfield Road in the first league meeting between the clubs since 1971.

Neil Eardley out the home side in front in just the 9th minute when he curved a free-kick around the wall and past Tim Howard but the Toffees were soon back on track when Tim Cahill powerfully headed home for his 50th Premier League in the 13th minute.

Blackpool again hit the front, this time three minutes after the re-start, when David Vaughan fired home on the second attempt after his initial shot rebounded back of an Everton defender.

But yet again, Everton responded quickly when Seamus Coleman made it 2-2 in the 50th minute unleashed a fierce shot after swooping on a poor clearance by Stephen Crainey.

Both Blackpool and Everton dropped a place on the table to 11th and 10th respectively as Sunderland leapfrogged them following their win over Stoke City.
