Blackburn Rovers fullback Stephen Warnock says teammate David Bentley has benefited from pulling out of England's U21 European Championship campaign.
When he was handed his England debut by Steve McClaren in last month's 3-0 win over Israel, he was booed by the Wembley crowd. But the 23-year-old has continued to go from strength to strength with a string of stunning displays for Rovers.
Warnock revealed: "He could have said he pulled a hamstring, but he had the strength to be honest. It's paying off. He's playing well because he had a break over the summer."
