Blackburn's Savage tips Hughes for Man Utd job

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage believes manager Mark Hughes is the ideal candidate to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

"I think our gaffer is a completely different character (to Fergie); he's probably a lot quieter," former United trainee Savage told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"But I honestly believe our manager has got a great chance of being the next Manchester United manager.

"He's got that same aura about him and if the job was available tomorrow, I think Mark Hughes would get it.

"But as a Blackburn player, I want him to stay here for a long time yet."
