Blackburn's Santa Cruz confident of Euro push

Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz believes there is a real determination in Mark Hughes' squad to qualify for Europe this season.

Rovers currently sit in seventh spot, eight points behind fourth-placed Everton in the race to finish in the lucrative fourth spot.

Hughes' men have won their last two games to boost their European bid and Santa Cruz says everyone in the squad is focused on finishing as high up the table as possible.

"We are a good team with a big heart," Santa Cruz told Sky Sports News. "It wants to win and you can see that and that is a very important thing for everybody at the club.

"That is going to take us to the places where we want to finish."

Santa Cruz has been an instant success at Ewood Park since his summer switch from Bayern Munich, scoring 15 goals so far this term, and the Paraguayan has been happy with his form.

"My goal was to score as many goals as I have right now," added Santa Cruz.

"I came with a vision to make a good impression on the team and also on myself."
