Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Reid admits his knee rehab is gruelling.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I have had a few niggles before but nothing like a cruciate ligament. I have fractured metatarsals, a few hamstring tears but that is six to eight weeks maximum. So to have two six month-plus injuries in the last three years is mentally difficult.
"I get up at 7am, leave the house at 7.30am, in for 8.30am then get going with Adrian Lamb at the indoor hall out of the way for an hour, then I do a lot of strength work on my good leg. After that I get in with the physio to work on my injured leg, then we do some fitness work, either swim, bike and weights and a bit of treatment.
"That is it Monday to Friday every day. It is all the boring stuff but the only benefits is I have got my targets there.
"Without those you would probably just want to give up but I know what I am doing all this for.
"There are days certainly when I am not in the mood and I am sure people in the training ground would tell you I can be a bit moody. But the lads have been brilliant, the medical team, all the fitness staff have been first class.
"Ideally I want to be playing but I am not playing so it is important I go along and support the lads.
"The season finishes on May 24 but I am going to be in all through May and June.
"The focus is to get training in pre-season and start with all the lads.
"Fingers crossed it will be okay for August back in the Premier League."
