AZ Alkmaar are weighing up a move for Blackburn defender Andre Ooijer. Technical director Marcel Brands has revealed the club are interested in the 34 year old Dutch international.

"From a footballing perspective we would like to sign him for the club," Brands told Voetbal International.

"But the problem is that you don't sign Andre for the bench, so then you must put another player on the bench.

"Maybe that would result in disruption rather than calm."
