Blackburn's Dunn: I let down Birmingham

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn admits he feels he let down Birmingham City when he was at St Andrews.

Twelve months ago the midfielder left Birmingham City in a deal worth £2.2million and with a reputation for being a serial crock. Now he is fast approaching his half-century of appearances on his second stint at hometown club Blackburn.

He admitted: "The first thing I thought when I came back was that I needed to be playing 30 games a season again.

"I think this year I've maybe played more than 30 games now. I can't remember the last time I played 30 games in a season - I don't think it was at Birmingham.

"Blackburn obviously thought it was a bit of a gamble at first but in terms of games played, it's been a success.

"I'm doing a few little bits and bobs different. I'm not driving up the M6 a couple of times a week, which I'm sure affected me.

"I've grown up a bit. I've got a lovely girlfriend now and I see my daughter a lot more. Everything is good there so I'm sure that helps as well.

"I do feel in the back of my mind I let Birmingham down and I still feel I kind of owe them."
