Blackburn defender Pascal Chimbonda has been given a six month driving ban after being found guilty of speeding. The former Tottenham and Sunderland player was caught speeding in Nottinghamshire and in North Yorkshire.
Northallerton magistrates were told under "totting up" rules he had more than 12 points on his licence and was over the threshold for a driving ban.
Chimbonda, 30, of Loughton, Essex, did not appear in court for the sentencing and was not legally represented.
The French international full-back was caught speeding at 82mph in a 70mph zone in a black Cadillac saloon car on the A1 near Newark on 7 October.
