Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is hoping Liverpool can go on to win the FA cup and give club captain Steven Gerrard a stylish send-off.
The Reds beat Bowyer's Rovers 1-0 at Ewood Park in the quarter-final replay on Wednesday night to set up a meeting with Aston Villa at Wembley on April 19 which has them just a win away from playing off in the final on Gerrard's 35th birthday on May 30.
"I wish Liverpool all the very best," Bowyer said after his side's loss.
"It would be fitting if they could win it for Gerrard, it would be a great way for him to finish his Liverpool career.
"He's been one of the best midfielders for a long, long time in this country. Whilst I wasn't wanting it to happen, now we're out of the cup I certainly hope it does."
