Blackburn's Bentley: England can win World Cup

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley insists England have enough talent to win the World Cup in 2010.

He told the Sunday Times: "I have so much respect for the likes of Lampard, Gerrard, Hargreaves, Barry, Cole, the whole team from start to finish. We have the best players in the world, so you have to ask yourself why they aren't playing. It's a lack of freedom. They're not expressing themselves out there. People are booing, always slating you, and sometimes you wonder what it's all about. It's human nature to think, 'I don't want to do this.'.

"If we can be strong enough characters mentally, hopefully we can overcome it. Once we get people like Steve, Frank and Rooney playing with freedom, we'll beat anyone. I believe we will win the World Cup. We have the players, and we have the capability. It's just about that extra five per cent. "
