Criticism of Blackburn Rovers' owners is now making news in India.
The Economic Times on Sunday spoke to Blackburn Rovers fans, MPs, financial experts and journalists as they critically assessed Venky's first year in charge.
With the front page headline 'Maybe Chickens Don't Play Ball', the article said: "Flash forward to the present and it turns out that the script has veered off course. Desai is perhaps familiar with football now. But the ways of English football could still remain a mystery for her.
"Venky's is saddled with a club languishing at the bottom. The club's finances are in disarray. The company also has to confront a board it does not see eye to eye with. And fans who are very, very angry."
