Blackburn Rovers want Manchester City striker Danny Sturridge.
The Daily Mail says City's efforts to sign Roque Santa Cruz are being hindered after they rejected a request from Blackburn to take Sturridge as part of the deal.
Aston Villa are also interested in Sturridge, 19, but manager Mark Hughes does not want to sell.
