Blackburn Rovers plan to strengthen their midfield with a raid on Parma.

The Daily Mail says Blackburn are interested in signing Parma's Spanish midfielder Fernando Marques.

Marques, 26, played 13 times for the Italian club last season after joining from Espanyol.

Rovers have also been linked with former West Ham midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger, but the German is thought to want a return to old club Aston Villa.
