Schalke insist they're not seeking to sell Blackburn and Bolton target Kevin Kuranyi.
Schalke have insisted Kuranyi is still at the club after suspected hackers posted a message on their official website claiming the striker had been released.
A false report appeared on the website on Tuesday evening claiming club chiefs had decided to release Kuranyi from his contract at with the Bundesliga club.
Schalke have moved to rubbish the report and the club's managing director told the Bild newspaper: "That is absolutely not the case. At Schalke nothing like this has happened.
"We now have to clear up what was wrong with our homepage."
According to reports in Germany, the rogue message was the work of internet hackers.
The website was closed for maintenance on Wednesday evening.
