Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is ready to shop in the lower divisions to boost his defence.
The Mirror says Ince will move for Millwall centre-half Zak Whitbread - son of Rovers' chief scout Barry - if he survives to the transfer window.
Ince's spies have been checking on the former Liverpool prospect and the League One outfit have had an inquiry about a possible New Year move.
Whitbread made a handful of appearances for Liverpool before he was allowed to move on.
