Blackburn Rovers are being linked with the much travelled Italian striker Christian Vieri, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. The 36-year-old veteran rescinded his contract with Atalanta back in April, after a lack of regular action in Bergamo.

Sources close to the player suggest he wants to spend pre-season with the Premier League outfit in Austria, in order to prove his fitness to the club.
