Blackburn Rovers have had success in appealing the red card received by Anthony Modeste on the weekend.
The on-loan French striker has had his initial three-match ban reduced to one - which he served when the Rovers lost to Liverpool last night - after h was sent off in Saturday's defeat at West Bromwich Albion.
Modeste was given his marching orders for pushing Baggies defender Billy Jones but the severity of his punishment has been lessened by the Football Association on the grounds of 'exceptional circumstances'.
"The striker was given a straight red for violent conduct on Saturday at the Hawthorns against West Bromwich Albion, but today the FA Commission have heard the case on the grounds of exceptional circumstances and have reduced the punishment to a one-match ban with immediate effect.
"This one-match suspension was served last night in the game against Liverpool so the on-loan striker can be considered for selection with immediate effect.""Rovers have been successful in their appeal over a three-match ban given to Anthony Modeste," read a statement on the club's official website.
