Blackburn striker Santa Cruz has no regrets missing Man City switch

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz is excited by the impact made by Manchester City's new owners - but doesn't regret snubbing a move to Eastlands in the summer.

Santa Cruz said: "Do I think about Manchester City? No but I think it's good for the Premier League.

"To have these kind of wonderful players come and play in this league is a good thing.

"There are rumours this or that player could come over. Then they do and you are aware of how strong teams are becoming."

Just days after knocking back City, Santa Cruz penned a new Rovers deal.

He added: "I have to be grateful to Blackburn. They gave me a chance when most people thought that when I left Bayern Munich my career was finished.

"This club can do great things. I'm enjoying playing for Paul Ince. And I'd love, one day, to win the Golden Boot."
