Blackburn star Diouf wants Senegal return

Blackburn Rovers striker El Hadji Diouf wants to play for Senegal again.

The controversial striker, sent off for the fifth time in his career in Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Aston Villa, quit the Senegal squad last year following their failure to reach the World Cup finals.

But Diouf, 28, has now announced his aim to play for the Teranga Lions once more. And his inclusion would spell extra headaches for Rovers boss Sam Allardyce, with Diouf placed at extra risk of injury and travel fatigue.

Diouf told Dakar radio station Zik FM: "I want to return to the Senegal national side stronger than ever.

"I never said that I was quitting for good."
