Blackburn Rovers have offered £500,000 for Birmingham City winger Sebastian Larsson.
The Swede is off contract in June and has already priced himself out of a move to Newcastle United.
The Mirror says Rovers boss Steve Kean slapped in his offer yesterday as he tries to tie up the Swede as his first cash buy - rather than wait to take him in the summer window when he is a free agent.
Blues wanted more money for Larsson but are now in a poor position to negotiate.
