Blackburn Rovers club captain Ryan Nelsen has visited India for crunch talks with the club's owners.
The People says New Zealander Nelsen joined his manager in a crisis summit at Venkys HQ in Pune as the two sides try to sort out their problems.
The centre half is one of the longest-serving players at Rovers and a dressing room spokesman with many team-mates worried about the clubs cash problems.
Nelsen is also an ally of manager Steve Kean who wants to show the owners there is a united front.
The manager is pleading for help from above and the Kiwi has joined him. There were also growing rumours that Kean had been summoned for the sack.
The Rovers squad are concerned at the lack of new faces, with five senior men leaving from the squad that beat the drop and Nikola Kalinic about to follow.
