Blackburn skipper Nelsen delighted with comeback in Man Utd stalemate

Blackburn Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen was delighted with his return in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

After coming on to replace Chris Samba in the first half of Rovers' 0-0 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, the 32-year-old was pleased to be back in the thick of things.

"It was great to be back involved after a bit of a lay-off," Nelsen admitted to Radio Rovers.

"It isn't nice coming on after thirty minutes, I couldn't feel my legs for the first ten. But once I settled down it was very enjoyable and very enjoyable to be part of a great team effort.

"The timing of the injury wasn't that great, and with the World Cup coming up I feared the worst, but the guys have been great, Phil has come in and Chris and Gael have played so well that it has allowed me to take my time and make sure I was right to return.

"Obviously I've only a limited time off in the summer so it was nice to get a bit of a break, but it is sure good to be back now."
