Blackburn Rovers are close to completing a deal for Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
Reports yesterday suggested that the Nigerian had rejected he chance to leave Goodison Park for Ewood Park but it has come to the fore that he has recently completed a medical with Rovers.
Yakubu has fallen down the pecking order under David Moyes and was subsequently loaned to Leicester City last season where he hit 11 goals in 20 Championship appearances.
Steve Kean is now about to finalise a deal for the 28-year old as well as Birmingham City defender Scott Dann.
