Blackburn see Birmingham defender Johnson as Jones replacement

Blackburn Rovers are moving for Birmingham City defender Roger Johnson.

The Daily Mail says Rovers are weighing up a £10million bid Johnson.

Rovers need to replace Phil Jones, who has joined Manchester United in a £16m deal, and have the financial clout to see off rivals Sunderland, Wolves and Bolton.

Johnson, 28, was plucked from Championship side Cardiff by Birmingham boss Alex McLeish two years ago for £5m but Birmingham value him at nearer £14m.
