Ronaldinho has reached an agreement with Italian giants AC Milan to end his time at the club and is set to head back home to Brazil.
This news has crushed Blackburn Rovers' dream of luring the 30-year old attacking midfielder to Ewood Park. They had reportedly made a £6.2million bid but it now seems highly unlikely they will get their man.
The former Barcelona star has been given the all clear to depart the San Siro which he confirmed at a press conference in Rio de Janeiro.
"We have signed an agreement with Milan, and today I am free to continue my life here in Brazil," he said.
Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, added that there was still a contract with the Rossoneri but it allows the playmaker to negotiate with homeland clubs.
"We have a contract with Milan, but there is an agreement giving us the freedom to negotiate with Brazilian clubs," he said.
