Blackburn's Kean confident uncertainty is now gone

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is confident that the uncertainty of a few weeks ago has passed and that the club is back on the right track.

After being taken over by Indian poultry giant Venky's Group in November, the Lancashire club went through some hesitant times with then-manager Sam Allardyce getting the sack and more recently a few players stating their desire to leave Ewood Park.

But Kean feels that the transfer window efforts, which were well-supported by co-owner and Venky's chairwoman Anuradha Desai, have done a lot to maintain focus at Blackburn.

"I think the fans are starting to realise now what's happening here. There was the confusion of a few weeks ago when people weren't sure what was going to happen," he said ahead of Wednesday night's visit of Tottenham.

"Maybe fans were worried there was going to be an exodus. But then Ryan (Nelsen), Chris (Samba), Michel (Salgado), Jason (Roberts) have all committed and we've also tied up young Phil Jones.

"They've backed us this month - they've backed us since day one. It's good that we've been able to attract players of this calibre.

"It's probably been a long time since we've been able to get someone from Barcelona and Schalke - Champions League clubs - and someone from Manchester City.

"And there will be more investment, this is not a flash in the pan."
