Blackburn’s Andrews hands in transfer request

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews has handed in a transfer request as he looks to leave the club.

The Republic of Ireland international comes out of contract in the summer but is determined to get regular first team football to be a chance of making Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad for the European Championships.

Andrews recently had a successful loan with Ipswich Town, where he scored nine Championship goals, but it has yet to be revealed if he will head back to Portman Road permanently.
