Blackburn Rovers have rejected Burnley's approach to sign club captain Grant Hanley.

Burnley are currently looking to sign a new central defender following the departure of skipper Jason Shackell to Derby County.

It was revealed recently that the Clarets had identified Rovers star Hanley as an ideal target and had launched an enquiry for the defender.

However according to reports from the Lancashire Telegraph, it can now be revealed that Blackburn have rejected Burnley's approach for Hanley as they are not interested in selling their prized asset.
