Blackburn rival Sunderland for Sporting Gijon striker Mate Bilic

Premiership clubs are circling Sporting Gijon for striker Mate Bilic.

Bilic has already confirmed the interest of Sunderland this month and it's emerged in the last 24 hours that Blackburn Rovers are also keen.

A bustling, powerful forward, Bilic could move to Ewood Park as a replacement for Benni McCarthy, now with West Ham United.

"I've always wanted to play in the Premiership because it's a great league," said Bilic.
