Blackburn Rovers remain keen on Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard.
The Daily Mail says the Ewood Park club held extensive talks with City over a potential move for Maynard.
Rovers refused to match City's £6.5million asking price and instead used their money to sign two strikers - Yakubu from Everton and Sheffield United's Jordan Slew.
However, Kean remains hugely keen on Maynard and will continue to monitor the 24-year-old's progress with a view to renewing his interest in the next transfer window.
