Blackburn Rovers have received Government support in their battle to beat the drop.

Secretary of State Andy Burnham, an Everton fan, told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I have seen Blackburn twice this season and they are definitely showing the right signs you need at this time of the season.

"They are looking tough to beat and I think they will do it: the one thing you need in a relegation scrap is to be able to fight and be tough."
