The new owners of the Lancashire club, Venky’s Group, are still keen to bring in a marquee signing in the summer and recent reports point to a possible £16million pursuit of the prolific Montenegrin international.

Vucinic currently earns around £70,000 a week in the Italian capital so Rovers will need to exceed to pry him out of his current contract which has still has two years to run.

The 27-year old has already had interest from Premier League clubs in recent times with Manchester United and Chelsea heavily linked in the last few months.
