Blackburn Rovers are planning a £16 million bid for Valencia winger Joaquin.

The People says new boss Paul Ince has been in contact with the Spanish club over a deal and they are planning to return this week with an answer.

Hard-up Valencia are looking to offload their stars in a bid to balance the books and would love to sell Joaquin, who failed to impress last season.

Ince will use the money from David Bentley's proposed move to Tottenham for the 27-year-old, who has a contract until 2012.
