Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is eyeing Hull City defender Alex Bruce.
Bowyer is in the market for a new centre-half and hopes to take advantage of Hull's deal for former Tottenham captain Michael Dawson.
Dawson's arrival is expected to see Bruce move on and a switch to Blackburn would suit him.
The defender was offered as part of a cash-plus-player swap bid for Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes last week, which was rejected by the club's owners.
Bruce was left on the bench for Saturday's draw with Stoke City.
